NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST JESUS

When we use the word confession people think of confessing sin. And we should:

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us of all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9).

But that is the negative side of confession. The Bible has much more to say about the positive side-the confession (profession) of our faith!

^{ROMANS 10:9-10}

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

This does not refer to confessing sin. This is confessing Jesus. Inhis heart man believes, and withhis mouth he confesses that Jesus is his Lord. He has done even more:

COLOSSIANS 1:13-14

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins…

Wow! We are new creatures in Christ Jesus, translated into the Kingdom of His dear Son and our sins are forgiven!

II CORINTHIANS 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
